Rarely do checklist sneak peeks feature a card that catches my eye and fits my budget, but that changed when I saw the 2024 Panini Prizm Draft Picks Football checklist! As a student at The University of Texas, I’m definitely going to have to pick up that dual-color blast of Arch Manning and Quinn Ewers. After watching the game against A&M last night, I can’t shake the feeling that college football cards are only going to get more popular. The money poured into that game was incredible — the most expensive ticket sold for around $3,900! I don’t understand why college cards aren’t treated like Bowman Baseball cards, but honestly, I’m not complaining. I’ll gladly take advantage of the lower prices and hopefully add this amazing card to my collection soon.

You read that right. Panini is releasing Minecraft cards! I'm honestly all for it, I even think I'd buy a box just because it is so nostalgic for me. I'm a big fan of Minecraft and watch YouTube videos pretty often. I think the parallel's are sick. Diamond, Iron, Gold, etc.

The real question is apart from the Color Blasts, what character will be the chase? Obviously a Steve 1/1 would go crazy. Wouldn't mind a Creeper Green Emerald color match. The Dragon could go for big money as well.

Honestly, I have no idea what to value this card at, but if I had to guess, the absolute ceiling would be around $100K. However, this offer seems to blow that number out of the water. If I were a Pirates fan, I’d definitely take the deal. But if I pulled the card and wasn’t a local fan (I'm in Austin, so PNC Park is a bit of a trek), it might not be as tempting unless those 30 years of tickets could be resold for a fortune on StubHub.

That's right, you heard me. I'm branching off from the memorabilia space and starting my own trend. What is it you may ask? Well, I'll tell you. I am on a mission to buy the most expensive plain game worn memorabilia on the planet in order to wear it out in public. That others may admire the extremely recognizable pieces in my collection.

I have started on my journey and have found where I am starting my ambitious dreams. First up, attached to this post you will see a plain white Rafael Nadal match worn shirt for $3,500. Right next to it you will see a pair of Mike Tyson black boxing trunks with a current bid of $2,750 with 6 days 6 hours and 11 minutes left.

If you look at the third picture attached you will see a white man wearing a white shirt and black shorts. A mock up of what I imagine I will look like walking down the street. I won't just be Keegan Wagner in a white tee shirt and shorts though. No, no, no. I'll be Keegan Wagner in a RAFAEL NADAL MATCH WORN white tee and MIKE TYSON MATCH WORN shorts.

And though I can get this combination at my local Goodwill for a measly $5, I will sleep well knowing I fulfilled my mission for the combined cost of $7,000+.

A small price one must pay to showcase such iconic pieces of history.

The five most relatable or unrelatable words over the past 3 days are about to be said to start this discussion. Brace yourself... DEEP INHALE..

I was scrolling through X... DEEP EXHALE... When I saw a tweet that read $1.28 trillion was added to the stock market yesterday. With a photo below that shows even someone with the worst foresight in the world could've made money on stocks the past two days. That is neither here nor there, rather just a self deprecating joke that relates to my bad track record of investing in players. Though, I do think Davis Mills could still be a starter in this league!

This may be hopeful thinking, which may be widely needed at this time. But, I truly see an avenue where the sports card market gets back to where it was in 2020/21. Except I think it could be even better. A sports card market flourishing beyond imagination. A thriving industry free of NFT gimmicks and a lack of masks having to be pulled down in order to hear the other person at the card show. Though those came in handy at times not having to smell those who opt out of deodorant at the card show.

I've been in this industry since I was six. I sat in my bedroom running razzes (without telling my mom) at the age of thirteen selling Carson Wentz & Jared Goff Black Gold patches /199. So it is safe to say I know what it looks like to hit rock bottom. I also know what it is like to hit gold. As I became one of the first sellers on Loupe before the big sports card boom. I've seen drastic changes in the hobby the last 8 years and they're very easy to predict. Seasons come and go with great correlation to the state of America, stocks, and the world around us.

All this to say, I see another BOOM (insert the Costco Guys) coming in the sports card industry. What has felt like a plateau the last two years, will soon transform into one of Elon's beautiful, shiny, white rockets (not my words, but it is my prediction). I think I legally have to say this post is not financial advice. (BUY DAVIS MILLS CARDS).
