Tokyo Game Show 2026 has wrapped up, so here’s a little recap of everything Samurai Pizza Cats / Kyattou Ninden Teyandee from the show! ❤🤍💙

First, the important bit: there were no official announcements regarding the game. TGS was primarily an opportunity for people to finally get their hands on Blast from the Past! and play the demo.

And judging by attendee reactions on X, the demo went over extremely well. I saw overwhelmingly positive impressions throughout the event, with several people mentioning the long queue specifically to say that playing the game was worth the wait. That’s incredibly encouraging to see. 💚

No official word about whether the demo will be downloadable for home consoles.

The Red Dunes booth itself deserves some appreciation, too. They decorated it to resemble the interior of the Pizza Cats restaurant, complete with the counter, familiar colours and details from the anime.

And the queue markers?

CAT. PAW. PRINTS. 🐾

Seriously, the attention to detail surrounding this game continues to be ridiculous.

The booth also featured a display cabinet absolutely stuffed with Teyandee goodies, including:

• Framed artwork from the the game.

• YOLOPARK Speedy/Yattaro, alongside the unpainted Polly/Pururun and Guido/Sukashii prototypes.

• The adorable TOIVO chibi acrylic standees. (Fun fact: the artist responsible for these was actually at TGS and got to see their work displayed at the booth! 🥹)

• The GRANUP × Balloon Fight collaboration standee.

• The Akibaunyu collaboration Yattaro standee and Nyankee keychain.

• The plush Nyanki-ear headbands that were distributed at last year’s TGS.

And, of course, the two new TGS 2026 promotional items:

✨ A Yattaro/Speedy souvenir cel featuring possibly the happiest cat alive throwing up a peace sign.

✨ An acrylic standee featuring Yattaro, Pururun and Sukashii / Speedy, Polly and Guido together.

I’ll cover these in more detail once I’m able to get my paws on them.

Both were marked as TGS 2026 / BLAST ZERO exclusives and, predictably, began appearing on the Japanese secondhand market less than a day after attendees escaped the building. 😂

There may not have been a big announcement this year, but honestly? TGS 2026 gave me more confidence in this project than I had going into it. Between the care put into the booth, the little details we’ve been spotting in gameplay, and especially the enthusiastic response from people who actually played it, BLAST ZERO continues to demonstrate that they understand what makes Teyandee special.
