If you’re as obsessed with Samurai Pizza Cats as I am, you may have already seen these floating around somewhere.
Around the first time I discovered them in early 2025, it seemed like their production cycle had already run its course several years prior. Okay… I completely missed out. Not uncommon when you collect items made decades ago.
Then, while browsing Instagram, I spotted a more recent post about them. A final run? But wait… 2024? Was I too late again?
I decided to take a chance and message the seller. Worst case, I had missed out again — but at least I’d know the source in case they ever changed their mind.
As luck would have it, the best-case scenario happened: they had one last complete set. I didn’t hesitate — Christmas gift to myself secured.
After surviving some Western Union shenanigans, the figures spent about a month in transit. Nearly two weeks to leave Peru (holiday traffic, most likely), speedran customs — cleared just three minutes after arriving in Canada — and battled through two Canadian winter storms before FINALLY arriving home.
Welcome home, Katana Cats! 🤍❤💙
These figures were everything I hoped they would be — and then some. They were created by the talented team at Feria del Juguete Perú (https://www.instagram.com/feriadeljugueteperu), whose dedication to the series is evident in every sculpted detail. Supporting artists who create works like this is incredibly important to me — projects born from genuine passion help keep the spirit of beloved series alive for future generations of fans and collectors around the world. Works like this remind me that some of the most meaningful pieces in a collection aren’t mass-produced — they’re created by fans who love these characters just as deeply as we do.
I was also surprised with several bonus items: a Pizza Cats cloth mask, a GORGEOUS glossy print of the main cast, and a beautiful poster packed with cartoon characters from my childhood.
The figures themselves are very solid. They aren’t articulated, but I genuinely don’t mind — the poses are iconic and perfectly capture each character. I’m very much a “set it and forget it” collector anyway. Minus the forgetting part, of course.
I’m especially impressed by the small details: Polly’s flute nestled against the base of her tail, the sculpted sword hilts, and Guido’s umbrella and the holder that slots onto his back. Small-batch artisan figures like these often possess a level of personality and craftsmanship rarely found in mass-produced merchandise — the kind that only comes from artists who truly understand and love the characters they’re bringing to life.
Since Guido and Polly have far less merchandise available, the real challenge was feng shui-ing Speedy into his new forever home — and let’s just say he’ll definitely be needing a second display box soon-ish.
There’s much more content about these figures coming down the pipeline. The creator has shared a wealth of information with me — including some exciting insight into their origins and possible future plans.
Stay tuned… In Part Two, I’ll be sharing more about the history of these figures, early production insights, and behind-the-scenes details generously shared by their creator — including prototypes and tentative plans for the future that collectors will absolutely want to know about.

¡Bienvenidos a casa, Katana Cats! 🤍❤💙
Fans in Japan got a little extra treat at the recent CatNinDen Teyandee / Samurai Pizza Cats 35th Anniversary screening event — because the upcoming Blu-ray box set contents were on display at the venue! 😭💚
So yes… people were able to see the packaging + included materials in-person ahead of release, which is SUCH a cool little peek behind the curtain.
I’m obsessed with how much love this series is getting in Japan right now 🥹
If anyone grabbed photos from the event, I’d LOVE to see more!

Wave Corp Yattarō is still coming!
Quick correction / reminder for the timeline board:
We accidentally missed one very important upcoming item in our year-end merch recap…
✅ Wave Corporation’s “Kyattou Ninden Teyandee” Yattarō model kit is still in development!
Wave showed unpainted prototypes and a display card confirming:
Plastic model kit
Non-scale / approx. 90mm tall
Articulated joints
Includes Toritsukkun
Combination / powered-up form is planned
Marked 監修中 (under supervision / still being finalized)
So: it’s not gone — it’s just been quiet since October, and we’re still waiting on painted samples / preorder info.
Star Game is a Hong Kong–based Chinese gaming magazine — which is why it looks a little “parallel-universe official.” Inside, you’ve got a feature spread on 「K忍者傳」, which is the Chinese title for Kyatto Ninden Teyandee’s Famicom game.
Regional Chinese gaming press like this played a huge role in how kids outside Japan experienced the Pizza Cats universe — mixing official art, localized commentary, and gameplay guides.
Obscure, ephemeral, and absolutely fascinating.
Important notes:
Developer listed: TECMO (correct).
Platform icons show FC / Disk / Play / M (Famicom ecosystem).
The screenshots and maps match late-era Famicom strategy coverage.
This is not a review blurb — it’s a how-to /攻略 (strategy guide).
So this magazine wasn’t just saying “hey this game exists” — it was teaching kids how to beat it.
This isn’t a Japanese game mag, and it’s not Western either. It sits in a very specific niche:
Chinese-language regional gaming press.
Officially licensed images.
Often locally written text + translated assets.
Very low survival rate outside HK/Taiwan collections.
That’s why Carousell keeps coughing these up like buried treasure.
This stuff almost never hits Yahoo Auctions or Mandarake.

Yolopark AMK Pro Series Speedy has officially landed! 🤍🍕⚔
I’m honestly so happy with how these figures turned out. Speedy comes with two full bodies (Battle-ready + Pizza-serving), and the overall presentation is really nice — the box design is clean, the accessories are plentiful, fantastic articulation (for the most part - I’ll get to THAT, later), and both figures look fantastic on display.
📦 What’s included:
✅ 2 model bodies (battle + work uniform)
✅ Extra hands + faceplates
✅ Swords + pizza accessories
✅ Lots of interchangeable parts (and thankfully they’re labeled clearly)
This is a set of figures you have to assemble. These kits don’t require glue, paint or tools, making it very beginner-friendly. If you’re already familiar with the series, you may not even need the instructions!
⚠ The “common issue” everyone talks about…
So yeah — my set did have the infamous problem: the peg connection between the torso and waist is too short, so it doesn’t lock securely and the body can separate way too easily. This only affects the Pizza-serving form. The Battle-ready form is a lot sturdier.
Also worth noting: I’ve seen a couple YouTubers with minor faceplate paint overspill, but mine came in clean!
BUT, major props to Yolopark’s customer service — they’re actively replacing defective parts.
⭐ Final thoughts so far:
I’ve been waiting for the day some company decided to give the work uniform the love it’s been needing for 35 years.
Even with the peg issue, I’m still obsessed, and I’m looking forward to the day Yolopark announces the next Pizza Cat to be released. I’d LOVE for them to add the Rescue Team to their portfolio.
Yolopark perfectly captured Speedy’s “chaotic short king warrior” energy and I love it. 😭💙
Now I just need the rest of the Pizza Cats to show up like:
“Hello! We’re here to financially ruin you!”
