Kyattou Ninden Teyandee × Granup “Balloon Flight” Collab — Acrylic Standee Set (2023)
This collaboration between Granup and Tatsunoko Production re-imagined the Samurai Pizza Cats as a bright, retro-style festival lineup. The “Balloon Flight” theme plays on the trio’s playful personalities — being carried by a collection of balloons that reflected each of the Nyanki’s unique personalities and story arcs..
The designs were exclusive to Granup’s online shop and pop-up venue. Each item was produced with a uniform aesthetic so the entire set forms a cohesive display — a modern tribute to the Nyanki’s 1990 roots.
Acrylic standees (アクリルスタンド) are one of Japan’s most popular collectible formats for modern anime goods.
- They’re printed on durable clear acrylic, giving the art a crisp, glossy finish that holds up to light and display over time.
- Many designs come with a removable base, allowing you to pose or group characters creatively.
- The style first became mainstream in the mid-2010s as conventions and cafés began selling limited event merch — and has since become a staple for both official collaborations and indie creators alike.
- Today, acrylic standees are as collectible as figures — often limited to short production runs tied to pop-up events or anniversaries like this one.
