VHS

Released by Video Treasures, this North American VHS was promoted as a “movie”, though it actually compiles Episode 1 — “Quit Dragon My Cat Around” and Episodes 51–52 — “The Big Comet Caper, Parts 1 & 2.”

If you’ve watched the series, this tape offers nothing new.

Marketed toward kids aged 5–12, the box art featured early promo illustrations of Speedy, Polly, and Guido soaring above Little Tokyo’s Pizza Emporium. The tape itself runs about 55 minutes and uses Saban’s trademark “Video Treasures” branding — complete with the whimsical “It’s a plane! It’s a helicopter! It’s a cat?!” tagline on the back.

While not a true feature film, this release marks one of the first official Samurai Pizza Cats home videos in North America — a quirky piece of early-’90s anime localization history that helped introduce the Nyanki to Western audiences.
