Phish “A Live One”
2017 Jemp Records JEMP 1089
4LP Box set, 180g red/blue vinyl, full color photo booklet.
M/M sealed with hype sticker.
Love me some Phish, but keeping this one sealed. First vinyl issue of this 1995 release and another six years before the next vinyl reissue.
Paradoxically it comes with a free download link to the album vinyl transferred to mp3 in the box that I’d love to use so I don’t get temped to break the seal. But I gotta break the seal to get at it 😂
2008 EU Virgin LPBOX 14
The "first"* five Genesis albums remastered in 2008 by Nick Davis and Genesis. 200g half-speed mastering vinyl in reproduction hard stock sleeves all in a heavy board box.
This one is sealed, with hype sticker, getting harder to come by. Values haven't gone up all that much since 2008 so I picked it up figuring I'm still "getting in early." I was looking for play copies because this is BY FAR without question THE best remix these LPs have ever seen. I was after play copies, but ran into this one at a fair price, so grabbed it. Since I'm NO WAY cracking the seal on this one it's back to the mines to find some NM play copies.
(*Genesis actual first album, not in this set, "From Genesis to Revelation" was a flop, produced by Jonathan King of "Everyone's Gone To The Moon" 'fame', and still under his publishing rights. The band were school kids and he completely controlled the sound. Their subsequent album, Trespass, the first in this set, was the first album they produced 'out on their own' and the sound is uniquely theirs as they came to be known for. As a result, their true "first" album 'FGTR', is always a bit of a red-headed stepchild in their catalog. I'm actually a complete-ist collector of that oddity, will post some day!)
