These were some of the first, and best, large scale pack pulled football cards - and the design in unparalleled- enough negative white space for the signature. Hand numbered rare parallel. Lots going on for it, especially as a Cowboys fan!
Some of the earliest large-set/large-scale pack-pulled autograph sets were from Skybox. The 1997 Autographics set is a killer - beautiful photography, on-card autographs, god use of negative/white space for clean and bold autographs and a sweet high-end parallel version (Century Marks) with hand numbered variants to #/100. Emmitt Smith is arguably one of the best RBs of all-time and this is one of his top autographed cards.
So not a big card to many. But he played at Indiana when I went to college there. He was the best player I’ve ever seen live in college (other than Glenn Robinson, maybe). He was a smooth left-handed with a great shot. I’m still surprised he didn’t do more in the NBA. He doesn’t have many BIG cards as he was early 90’s and didn’t make a lot of the big late 90’s inserts. So this is one of my favorites - love the early Skybox autographics sets especially the Century Marks versions. And this is my own special 1/1 as it’s jersey numbered. So I had to overpay for it. But I’m good with that.
