More than a year after I bought a card from the 1995 Topps 1000/3000 Yard Club Power Boosters set, I’ve received the 41st and final card needed to complete it.
This set was inserted 1:36 hobby packs, making it a box hit. Piecing it together isn’t too expensive but it’s time-consuming if you want to buy good condition cards at a decent price point.
Ben Coates was impossible to find for some reason. I had a saved eBay search specifically for this card that I checked multiple times per day and he didn’t appear for 6 months…and when he did, I had to pony up $17 to get him (whereas I paid $15 for Barry Sanders!).
I don’t have any other set chases in progress and I don’t think I’ll be starting another one any time soon. Just going to enjoy this feeling of satisfaction for a while.
