Shop Stories | Baseball Card Clubhouse

Post image 1

After his professional baseball career ended, Jason Weintraub took a few years to decide on his next occupation.

Ultimately, the Tampa native found his way back home doing what he loved to do with his best friend: running a hobby shop with his dad.

Weintraub — a former New York Mets pitching prospect who spent five years in the organization’s farm system — has been running Baseball Card Clubhouse since 2010.

Weintraub’s dad, Skip, opened the store in 1989, three years after moving from New York to Tampa.

Shop Stories | Roadshow Colombia

Jimmy Mahan and his Roadshow card franchise will open the first hobby shop in Bogotá, Colombia in December.

Jimmy Mahan — the owner of the successful Roadshow card stores franchise with four locations in Kentucky, Texas, New York, and California — is ready for his next big venture.
He is bringing The Hobby to South America.
Mahan will be opening a store in Bogotá, Colombia. Slated to open around the beginning of December, it will make history as the first hobby shop in South America.
“I can’t even describe how exciting it is,” Mahan told RIPPED. “I know the grand opening will take it to a different level. It’s like, man, I wish I could go back and watch Star Wars for the first time and remember how cool that was. With this, it’s like getting to see The Hobby hit a community differently for the first time.”

Topps House of Hobby | Graybo's Sports Cards

Post image 1

Imagine a place where collectors can rip their favorite product and watch multiple sporting events at once, all the while enjoying nachos, a pizza, and a cold adult beverage.

Sounds like a dream scenario. It’s a reality in Richmond, Virginia.

The hobby shop Graybo’s Sports Cards opened in May, which includes the attached sports bar and lounge, Parlay. The 5,500-square-foot building — 62% of that space is taken up by the bar and lounge — features a modern design and feel in the trendy neighborhood, Scott’s Addition.
