2024 Leaf ITG Gold Legends, Hank Aaron#2/5 ⭐ MLB Pioneer
On October 3, 1976, Hank Aaron gets a single in his final MLB at bat in a 5-2 loss to the Tigers. Aaron is lifted for a pinch runner and ironically, was in scoring position when he is removed from the game -- he needed one more run scored to break a tie with Babe Ruth for the most runs in baseball history.
Aside from Minnie Minoso’s PR appearance in three games with the White Sox as a 50 year-old in 1980, Aaron is the last major leaguer who played in the Negro Leagues to appear in a big league game.
