The collectibles industry understands collecting. The recovery space understands addiction, prevention, treatment, and support. The CMD Framework helps connect the two.

As modern collecting continues to evolve through live commerce, breaking, randomized products, scarcity, speculation, and increasingly frictionless purchasing, the framework provides a way to strengthen education, responsible engagement, early identification, peer support, and pathways to professional help - without treating collecting itself as the problem.

One of the first real-world examples is Unboxed: Exploring a Healthier Relationship with Collecting, developed by the Problem Gambling Coalition of Colorado (PGCC) in partnership with Collectors MD. We’re incredibly grateful to Jamie Glick and PGCC for helping demonstrate what meaningful collaboration between these two worlds can look like.

As the collectibles industry continues to grow and mature, the infrastructure surrounding education, prevention, and support must evolve alongside it.
