Precious Metal Auction Tomorrow! Bidding open now!

Post image 1

There has been an enormous influx of collectors and speculators diverting some disposable income into silver, gold and platinum. Usually the premiums on these are very high, and as a member of the general public, you are forced to pay premiums to buy, and almost always, there's no reciprocation come time to sell. At Stack's Bowers, we have leveled the playing field on the purchasing side for you, offering a weekly auction where bidding starts at 99%, and your bid is based off the percentage of the lots metal content. For example, if silver is locked in at $22.50 and you bid 100% on a 10oz item, the cost to you is $225. If gold is locked in $2000 and you bid 105% on a 1oz lot then your cost is $2100. There is no buyers premium for this sale. Tax is applicable based on where the items are shipped. We announce the spot price right before the sale, so the value of those metals is locked in the morning of the sale. I'm available if you have any questions. Buy like a dealer, and not like a walk-in! You can find the sale, and register to bid here : https://auctions.stacksbowers.com/auctions/3-188COL/february-22-2024-precious-metals-auction-lots-64001-64446

The Office Bookshelf gets shuffled around way too much

Does anyone else spend time rearranging their office displays? I have some fun stuff on here that I keep out because I enjoy looking at them, and but am always adding and taking away, unable to find a long term solution. Thought I'd share some of my favorites that have survived my most recent shuffle.

The Wata NBA Street Vol 1 has to be my favorite video game of all-time, with Gran Turismo a close second. Need to have the sealed Bronx Tale, though I rotate it with my sealed Home Alone during the holidays. The replacement note Serial Number *00000023 (it's not a Chicago district, but it is a Cleveland district... maybe LeBron will want it, or sign it?) also happens to be my favorite number, so when I found it I got very excited as I have never seen another Serial Number 23 Star Note.

I love tickets. Currently I am displaying Jay-Z's Black Album night at Madison Square Garden ... Giants vs Patriots Superbowl 2008, Jeter's first World Series clinching game, and the S.I rookies of Kobe and AI.

If you look closely at the shelf toward the bottom, you can see a business card of mine, that @Buster Scher drew a Utility Mic on ... that's an important piece!

My old 23game6 license plate ("Jackson, Tyson, ......") is probably the longest lasting item on the display so far!

The Giannis Cards are all duplicates of a larger portion of my collection but the 2nd year refractor signed in blue by him is a favorite of mine, and I only have one of those. I focus on the Greek Flag cards and blue cards especially with his jersey number (34/50 , 34/99, 34/199 etc etc) mostly because, you guessed it, I'm Greek. The coins are cool too, he signed the actual inserts that were incapsulated.

I find that some of my more expensive collectibles I don't spend much time talking about or looking at, and I seem to have a more personal attachment to my more niche stuff than I do the big ticket items.

Does any one else experience that?

Stay tuned for the next reshuffle !!! 🙄
