In Which Topps RIPPED Interviews PAW Patrol's Rubble

Post image 1

To know Rubble is to love Rubble. The lovably tough five-year-old English bulldog of PAW Patrol and Rubble & Crew fame has something new to bark about: his own card in 2024 Topps Baseball Update Series alongside legendary Yankee slugger Aaron Judge.

We recently caught up with Rubble while he and his crew—Mix, Charger, Wheeler, Motor, Auntie Crance, and Grandpa Gravel—were getting ready in the Bark Yard for the next Builder Cove project. True to his catchphrase, Rubble answered our questions “on the double” about his love of collecting, baseball, and—of course—Aaron Judge.

UFC’s Raquel Pennington | Head Up, Heart Strong

Post image 1

It’s a common platitude to call a UFC fighter a “warrior” or a gladiator, ready to bite down on their mouthpiece and move forward through a storm of flying fists and fingerless gloves, willing to go out on their shield. Still, when it comes to former bantamweight champ Raquel Pennington, it’s all true and 100% accurate.

Over the last decade-plus and since participating in the first all-female The Ultimate Fighter show, Pennington has participated in the most fights since the female bantamweight division was introduced and now holds almost every meaningful record in the division’s history. It wasn’t easy. It was a grind. She’s walked the razor’s edge, going up against a murderer’s row of historic women fighters, racking up plenty of wins and losses, but always moving forward, evolving, and eventually, becoming champion.

Nando Di Fino Celebrates 15th Anni of Balloon Boy Hoax and Subsequent Relic Card

Post image 1

You may not realize it’s already this old, but 15 years ago, one of the most infamous modern hoaxes (maybe) took place.

And part of it exists as one of the greatest relic cards ever made.
On October 15, 2009, cable news cut to live coverage of a giant, shiny, helium-filled homemade balloon shaped like a flying saucer. Reports said a six-year-old boy named Falcon Heene was in it.

A nation followed its path as experts popped on air and tried to explain how the boy snuck into a lower compartment before it went airborne. The Denver airport was closed. The balloon eventually crash-landed in what looked like a desert, with officers feverishly chasing as it zig-zagged down. As the balloon hit the ground, the horror hit everyone watching the live feed that Falcon was insi— no, wait a minute, it’s empty.

Reports then surfaced that maybe someone had seen something fall out at some point. A search was on and authori— no, never mind; he was hiding in his attic all along.
