On August 15th, 1955, Mickey Mantle homers from both sides of the plate in the same game for the second time in his career, tying the major-league record. In doing so, Mick led the Yankees to a 12-6 win over the Orioles in the second game of a double header.
When he retired Mickey Mantle held the record, hitting a home run from both sides of the plate in the same game a total of 10 times during his career.
The record is currently 14 games, held jointly by Nick Swisher and Mark Teixeira. They are followed by Carlos Beltran - 12 times and Eddie Murray - 11 times.
