Recently, eBay listings with Kyatto Ninden Teyandee DVDs containing English and Spanish subtitling have been popping up from a seller in Puerto Rico.

Let’s look at some of the details from the back of the case:

• Incorrect year listed (1984 — series aired in 1990)

• “AI Improved” branding (not used on licensed releases).

• Mentions of “backup discs”.

• NTSC listed on a Blu-ray (not a Blu-ray standard)

• No Tatsunoko or official distributor credit.

• Unknown website credited on packaging.

• Disc 5 artwork sourced from fanart (not official Tatsunoko material).

• Disc 4 used traced fanart.

• More importantly, the seller also specifies in the description that this is not official.

Sharing this as a heads-up so newer collectors are more aware that this isn’t official.

If you like it as a curiosity piece, or can’t afford the high cost of the set recently released in Japan, that’s one thing — just don’t let anyone sell it to you as official.
