This is one of the most widely coveted playing days baseball cards of Joe DiMaggio.
It captures Joe DiMaggio during his historic 1941 season—the same year he hit safely in a record 56 consecutive games.
Unlike earlier black-and-white sets from Gum, Inc., the 1941 Play Ball series introduced vibrant, full-color tinted backgrounds that gave the cards a striking aesthetic appeal.
Because it is card #71 in a 72-card set, children historically stored it at the back of stacks, leaving surviving copies prone to heavy corner and edge wear.

Naturally, I had to have this card.
