It’s great that the card hobby has grown with so many new platforms like eBay, COMC, and Arena Club, giving collectors endless ways to buy, sell, and trade. But somewhere along the way, the balance has tipped — it feels like everywhere you turn, someone’s trying to sell you something. Spaces that were once meant for sharing collections, discussing favorite players, or celebrating pulls have become mini marketplaces. The joy of connection is being drowned out by constant pitches. Collectors shouldn’t feel like they have to brace for a sales pitch every time they just want to talk about the hobby they love.
