I was born in Boston during the Red Sox Impossible Dream season, where Yaz won the Triple Crown with .326-44-121-10 numbers. That’s a 12.4 WAR using today’s standards.

Carl Yastrzemski, nicknamed "Yaz", was a legendary Boston Red Sox outfielder known for his incredible hitting and defensive skills. He is a Hall of Famer, won the Triple Crown in 1967, and holds the Red Sox record for career hits.

What I really love about this card is that it (presumably) shows Yaz hitting grounders, doing some infield work for his teammates. An act that I’m pretty sure is long gone in today’s game.

One of my favourite recent pickups. The triple crown inscription was a nice bonus. I’ll be sending it to PSA soon.

One of the great Sox’s players as well as in baseball history. So great that stayed with one team just don’t see that enough these days. Love the simplicity of the early 60s Topps sets.
