Why do checklists take so long to release?

Post image 1

There may be an obvious answer here, but I'm curious, why is it that checklists often release around the same time as the physical product? I'd expect Topps, Panini etc. to know exactly what'll be in the product well ahead of the wax release date. Is it a strategic choice?

More trading card content needs to be made in the interest of the collector

So much of the sports card content that is made today that surfaces to the top is from breakers and self serving content creators. Which is why I LOVE when I see social content created for the sole purpose of helping out the person who is interested in getting into collecting or getting into a break but doesn't know where to start and doesn't want to get taken advantage of.
Here are two accounts I've discovered recently that are doing just that.
1) Break Comp Cards - This account goes and manually collects the total break price for boxes and breaks on different apps and let's the consumer know which breakers have the cheapest prices in total or for team.

2) Sports Card Analysis - I love a good checklist and so does this guy. He breaks down product checklists in great detail and lets you know which teams have the most amount of cards, inserts, autographs and more. A great resource for something looking to get into breaks but doesn't want to pay for the most expensive team in the break and still wants a good chance to hit.
