Hit just my second HOF auto last night in a 6-case break. Love it!

I love cards with blue sky in the background. Just gives the feeling that it's a perfect day for baseball.

Jim Palmer was 20-9 with a 2.68 ERA in 1971, part of a legendary Orioles rotation that featured four 20 game winners. He went 2-0 in 3 solid post-season starts, but Baltimore came up just short of repeating, losing to Roberto Clemente's Pirates in 7 games.

This a combo of one of my fav sets 1976 Topps and a nice auto. One of the great pitchers from the 70s. Palmer had some great years in Baltimore and won a few Cy Young awards along the way.

“In 1968, he was limited to 10 minor league games, with no appearances for the Orioles. The outlook on his career was so bleak, Palmer considered quitting baseball to attend college or trying to be a position player.”

When I was looking at his career stats at this point in his storied career as an ace for the Baltimore Orioles, I wondered why 68 was so dismal. I wonder if Earl Weaver was the problem?! lol (Those who know; know)
