In honor of The Conors getting renewed, I’m sharing my VHS copy of Matinee signed by star John Goodman and director Joe Dante. Set during the Cuban Missile Crisis, Matinee is the story of a schlock director, very similar to the real life William Castle, putting on a matinee showing of a gimmicky horror film in a Florida navy town. Both Goodman and Dante appeared at screening last year in New Orleans where the hosted the film and signed free autographs for everyone in attendance.

I purchased season tickets to MLS DC United to guarantee to watch Messi play (Messi effect). Sad news Messi got hurt the game before the match against DC United. My son and I were devastate 😭.

Although we never got to witness Messi play live we still made the most of the season tickets and attended every game. Last night was special, we decided to go to the stadium early to see if we could get players to sign the DC United jersey I bought him.

Long story short my son was able to get about 80% of the team to sign the back of his jersey. Also an unexpected bonus, one of the goalies gave my son his glove which he then got all the goalies to sign. Then to top it off, he was able to get a photo with his favorite player and team captain Christian Benteke (2nd MLS leading scorer behind Messi) who happened to score 2 goals beating Seattle 2-1. It was a special night for my son, he was filled with so much joy. It was also a great moment for me as a dad to share that priceless experience with him.

I love Rittenhouse — they don’t get enough love for their inscriptions they get people to do. Their Twilight Zone stuff is so great too

I now have at least 1 team signed ball for each MLB team my Great Uncle (Billy Klaus) played for.
The bottom right ball is a Triple A Champion, 1952 Milwaukee Brewers team ball. This was the final of 50 seasons for the minor league org

The bidding got away from me on this one, which just closed at RR Auction for $1,707 but definite goal of mine to add a handwritten Harrison note to the collection one day.
