2001 Fleer Tradition, Stitches in Time Auto ⭐ Joe Black - MLB Pioneer
Joe Black was a pioneering pitcher who cemented his place in MLB history by becoming the first Black pitcher to win a World Series game, achieving this milestone in 1952 with the Brooklyn Dodgers. After transitioning from the Negro Leagues' Baltimore Elite Giants, Black was named the 1952 National League Rookie of the Year as a dominant reliever. His 15-4 record and 2.15 ERA in 1952 were pivotal for the Dodgers, and his legacy of overcoming racial barriers earned him significant, lasting respect, including having the Arizona Fall League's MVP award named in his honor.
This 2001 Fleer autograph set is superb.
Big thanks to Fleer for getting autographs of MLB and Negro League legends; preserving history for future generations.
These baseball heroes will never be forgotten.
