If you are ever in or around Troy, Alabama check out the Pioneer Museum of Alabama! It’s my local museum, and it does not disappoint! It’s one of the most underrated museums in all of Alabama, I’ve heard that it’s better than a lot of the museums in our capital of Montgomery.
The museum has thousands of artifact across its five rooms. It also has a General Store that is opened to visitors with their admission. The museum has a lot of older buildings as well. However, to preserve these buildings, they are not open to the public with your regular admission. However, they open these buildings for special tours, and museums events.
The museum just had their biggest event of the year this weekend, and I was sitting up as a demonstrator. The event is called “Pioneer Days,” and is a Friday and Saturday event. We had 11 school groups Friday, and the biggest Saturday turn out yet!
If you are ever in Troy, Alabama, please check this place out! You will not be disappointed!
