Over the past couple weeks, I've been opening up Topps Archives hobby boxes and blasters from the past 6 years -- all culminating with the 2018 Topps Archives blaster I'm opening up tonight!
I've been rookie card hunting, nostalgia rekindling, and just generally having a good time opening up older wax (even if it's literally just a few years old -- not even in kindergarten yet!).
Do y'all still buy older wax, whether it's junk wax or just older blasters from eBay? Or do you only stick to singles?
I find that a rookie card pulled, even if it was pulled 5 years late, still means much more to me than a rookie card single that I purchased.
Tonight, I'm hoping to hit that Shohei Ohtani rookie card, and fellow MVP Ronald Acuna Jr. RC, along with possible other RC hits like new Yankees OF Juan Soto, Rafael Devers, and others.
Also, i find that older blasters have better chances at autos and good parallels, etc.
I got two autos from the four blasters I’ve already opened for Topps Archives between 2019 & 2022!
