Kids these days we forget what a monster card. This one was. It was like Zion or Wemby at the time in one of the most impressive cards of Oden out there. Clearly, he was a bit of a bust due to his injuries. But he was a smooth 7 foot center with handles who could play strong offense and amazing defense. He never panned out, and Kevin Durant, taken with the second pick that year, is a top 20 player of all time. But I was a substitute teacher for Oden in high school and was that Ohio State when he played for that team as well. Is this card commemorate that time in life for me.

This Isiah Thomas Star Co. rookie autograph checks off a lot of boxes for me. He is a Hall of Fame player with both an NCAA in NBA championship. He went to my alma mater, in Indiana University, and I love these early Star cards. A beautiful, bold in-person blue autograph really seals the deal on this one. Early Star Co. rookies are pretty hard to get, and this one as a stunner!
