Mentioned this a week or so ago but was able to grab a 1964 Topps Koufax for a relative steal on EBay. SGC 5, which, for my budget, is as good as I’m going to get right now.

I don’t have many SGC slabs- forgot how much bigger they are than PSA!

1979 O-Pee-Chee Wayne Gretzky

As one of the most iconic cards in the hobby, the 1979 O-Pee-Chee Wayne Gretzky holds significant emotional and financial value for so many collectors. Not only is this the "key rookie card of hockey's greatest player" according to PSA's published card facts, it shows the evolution of the hobby and a time where cards were issued in both "sheet cut" and "normal fashion" (e.g. non-cut sheet form).

As the industry has evolved, the definition of "normal fashion" continues to evolve, so why hasn't PSA's stance on one of the most iconic hockey cards? With other companies willing to grade the card, is there further opportunity to differentiate these beyond "Authentic?"

While the ethos of this rule is directly stated in PSA's grading standards, the secondary purpose of it was to prevent trimming / alterations of cards. However, is there an opportunity to add an "eye appeal" grade to the card versus the standard 4-grade scale?
