Another wonderfully obscure piece of Samurai Pizza Cats / Kyatto Ninden Teyandee history has been preserved! 🎉

Retro Reprints has completed its restoration of the 1990 Seika coloring book, and the remastered digital edition is now available for download as a PDF.

The book features plenty of vintage artwork from the original series, making it a fun little time capsule for fans and collectors, as well as a potentially useful source of character and artwork reference material. And unlike an increasingly difficult-to-find physical copy, you can actually enjoy this one without treating every page turn like delicate archaeological fieldwork. 😂

A beautifully simple piece of school-era merch: an official Seika notebook featuring the Nyankī trio, complete with classic monochrome artwork and lined interior pages. The Seika branding on the reverse confirms the manufacturer, grounding this firmly as licensed stationery from the show’s original run.

Equal parts childhood desk companion and quiet survivor of time—meant to be used, somehow lucky enough not to be. 📓🐾

IMPORTANT NOTE:

The original notebook design includes a traditional Buddhist manji symbol (卍), commonly used in Japanese media to represent temples or good fortune. Because this symbol is frequently misinterpreted outside its cultural context, it has been edited out of the images.

A little burst of early-90s nostalgia, today! These are official Seika (Seiko) children’s stationery items from the original Kyattou Ninden Teyandee merch wave: the sketchbook and the coloring book.

Bright, loud, and hyper-energetic, these covers capture that classic KNT art style — big eyes, big poses, and even bigger personality. They were inexpensive children’s items at the time, so surviving copies in good condition are a small miracle.

Features the main trio (and rescue team members Mietoru/Bat Cat & Gotton/Meowzma) , complete with action poses and bold, colorful backgrounds. The kind of thing a 1991 kid would carry around until every page fell out.

📗 Seika Coloring Book

Showcases Speedy, Polly, Guido, and even a couple of villains in full-page line art inside. These were meant to be destroyed by crayons, so finding one uncolored feels like discovering a fossil.

Both books are now listed on RetroReprints, which is huge for preservation.

If enough people show interest or add them to their Requests, there’s a good chance these could be fast-tracked into full downloadable eBooks. (And honestly, more accessible KNT media is always a win.)

These may not be the rarest items in the fandom, but they’re a charming slice of early-merch history — bright, goofy, nostalgic, and absolutely worth preserving.

Today’s treasure is a gorgeous vintage jigsaw puzzle from Seika Note Co., the same company responsible for early Teyandee notebooks, coloring books, and school supplies.

This puzzle is part of their 75-piece line intended for young kids — but don’t let that fool you. The artwork is premium, packed with dynamic poses and bold colors that feel straight out of a promo poster.

The lineup includes:

• Yattaro front and center, mid-pounce.

• Sukashii (fighting Rekkaa) and Pururun (fighting Wokkaa) flanking him.

• Karamaru getting the spotlight he DESERVES (rare!!).

• A rainstorm of shuriken because subtlety is for other franchises.

Seika puzzles are surprisingly durable for their age — dense cardboard, tight die-cuts, and that signature slightly glossy surface. This one even retains its original plastic shrink, which is borderline miraculous in 2025.

A perfect piece of early-era KNT merch history and one of the nicest group illustrations outside official books.

This is absolutely going on the list of “things that should not have survived three decades, but did.”
