So you may have heard by now, there was a sale over the weekend for a flaming hot Cheeto in the shape resembling a Pokémon Charizard. I am genuinely baffled and amazed, but wonder what others think. It’s not truly a collectible nor could you really say it is a 1 of 1.
My “hot” take is this sort of thing really seems to hurt collectible items because it allows anyone to claim outlandish claims on the value of something. While it is amusing to read about, it also makes me question everything about value and worth about items.

Several years ago, had a work event where I made a 17,000 piece mosaic out of Formula One driver Max Verstappen. Had no idea of what would come as a result and this piece was my first big purchase from a client.
Was made in 2016 before he was a 4x-time world champion. Sold at a Formula One race in 2019 and led to additional pieces being created. Unfortunately, COVID-19 was a thing the following year and interrupted my artwork pursuit. Artwork sold for $30K in 2019 (makes me wonder what this is worth six years later) - essentially a 1 of 1 rookie artwork signed piece.
