I’m not sure the fervor will subside anytime soon, so maybe it is worth (checks ebay) $1.25? Could be $2.50 next week! We were right about the McDonald’s cups!!!

I went for breakfast and ended up getting two Minons/Jurassic Park/Shrek ones (the Shrek glasses had lead in them and ended the long McDonald’s glasses tradition so that was pretty funny) and two McDonald’s character ones. They’re plastic but good plastic (like what kids’ cups are made of). Will I go back for lunch? Maybe. Dinner? Likely. And then live with the realization that I spent $120 at McDonald’s in one day just to get 16 plastic cups…”for the kids”! (while ignoring their pleas for Happy Meals… which have Panini stickers in them now, ironically)

Anyway, here’s what two of them look like... havw fun!

I’ve bought Topps Olympic cards for years (they’re awesome) and have never seen them sold out like this before. So I’m begrudgingly buying singles. I think the card to get in this set might be Ilona Maher, who already has two viral clips (plowing over a defender and responding to someone mocking her BMI) and a huge social media following (if you believe in the Leaf method of card worthiness).

Will these have value after September? Maybe? I could see her being a breakout and maybe doing some commercials and even TV stuff?

So then it becomes do I risk $50+ for an auto rookie card? Right now it’s been relatively cheap /199 or /99 parallels.

Still a cool card of a fun player. But I wonder if she really takes off
