I always love when two of my favorite artists work on a shared collaboration. In this image, entitled “Escape”, the team at SNIK created a dream-like image of a woman floating in mid air, suspended through a series of rings. This is reminiscent of a classic illusionist or magic act. The Norwegian Artist Martin Whatson has then tagged the image using his colorful graffiti style. This collaboration just works well to create an image that jumps off the flat service with pops of color that really stand out. Both artists are highly collectible and being able to secure a rare, hand-finished print like this is very lucky. I was able to purchase this directly from the artist as one of their artist’s proofs. A few detailed pictures are attached as well.

You’ve seen a few of my Martin Whatson pieces posted before. He is a very popular and collectable Norwegian urban artist. Very lucky to secure this original painting be for his prices skyrocketed. I love pops of color on greyscale in general.

I think this is one of the few Martin Watsons prints or paintings that doesn’t have his classic graffiti tags. Still, it’s one of his most famous prints, entitled, “Eternal Reflection”. There are a number of variations with different colored butterflies. The green version is one of my favorites, but they’re all very nice and highly sought after.

This is not my more favorite work. It lacks some of the whimsical and playful themes often found in Martin’s work. But the graffiti tagged butterfly is just pretty and vibrant.
