Moving from fine Art prints to original paintings is quite the expensive endeavor. The slow growth of my art collection over time with a focus on urban art, street art, bridging into fine art has been fun… But expensive. Martin Whatson is a Norwegian street artist who is known for his fun, eye popping, colorful, graffiti tags. He has gained quite a following. I love his use of grayscale with pops of colored graffiti. This is a stencil and spray paint on canvas with paint pen graffiti tags.

OK folks… You may not recognize the importance of this odd looking print. Gonefellow is one of the artists in Banksy’s conglomerate and a good friend of his. This art print is very limited in its edition size and features what’s known to be a “portrait“ of the most famous/infamous Urban artist of our generation Banksy (with a box over his head to protect his anonymity, of course!) and can go into details about what I know about him and his crew….but I won’t do that. I know a lot of things about a lot of things…IYKYK

Ardif, a French artist that I met about 7 years ago, still has affordable art (both prints and paintings) and will work on commissions as well. They intricate details on his “mechanimals” have a steampunk like quality that belies his start as an architect. But his stuff while you can as it slowly continues to rise in collectability art, cost, value, and depth.

Icy & Sot are an Iranian-born, Brooklyn-based street art duo known for their politically and socially charged artwork. Originally from Tabriz, Iran, the brothers—who go by Icy and Sot—started their careers as stencil artists before expanding into mixed media, sculpture, and installation art. Their work often addresses themes like human rights, freedom, migration, climate change, and social justice.

Icy & Sot’s art is characterized by bold imagery, often featuring silhouettes, barbed wire, birds, and other symbols of oppression and hope. They frequently use found materials like fences, metal, and plastic waste to create thought-provoking installations. Their stencil work draws influence from classic street artists like Banksy and Blek le Rat, but with a distinctly personal and political edge shaped by their experiences growing up in Iran.

This print depicts a hooded figure sitting under a lush green tree, which is juxtaposed against an urban rooftop environment. The tree casts a shadow onto the brick wall behind it, creating the illusion of a hidden sanctuary in an otherwise bleak landscape.

You just don’t see these. Like ever. I could have had it for $1000 5 years ago and I paused. And then. Just like that, it was gone. Damn it. A good reminder, if you see super rare stuff you like…just buy it. You might never see it again!
