Yes, you've probably seen this card floating around and posted a million times in the past week. Yet, here I am, sharing that my urge to buy this card is even greater than my desire to buy a card of one of my favorite sports players. I have found myself asking, why do I want a driving crooner autographed card for $300 when I could get a nice Stroud PSA 10 for less than that?

I think Allen & Ginter demonstrates how much of a success pop culture cards could be within the collectibles community. Could you imagine the selling price of a Taylor Swift A&G card? I've seen weak attempts at this in the past from Topps with the Lil Wayne collaboration, and great success with the Travis Scott Topps Chrome.

WHY CAN WE NOT GET A CONSISTENTLY GOOD POP CULTURE SET? Maybe this confession I am about to make is sad, but right now I think I'd be more likely to buy a signed card of the Rizzler than I am to buy a Caleb Williams rookie card. If you do not know who The Rizzler is, just know he is A BIG DEAL. I'll leave it at that.

Mark Jackson has seen a 32% increase in the value of his 1990 card (PSA 10) over the past 14 days. Reason? The infamous Menendez brothers are featured sitting on the sidelines on the card. The brothers were the subject of a new season on the show Monster on Netflix, which release two weeks ago - pretty interesting!

On a Thursday in March back in 2015, former SNL superstar Will Ferrell made himself some history. Ferrell played for ten MLB teams in five spring training games to raise money for cancer charities, logging time at every position (yes, including pitcher) and one appearance as a pinch hitter. He also spent some time with the Cubs as an enthusiastic third-base coach, where he pulled out cue cards for men on base, like “You are so handsome,” “Remember these games don’t count,” and “Ignore that last card … play hard.” Ferrell made his goal heading into the day crystal clear in an interview with ESPN. “What if today I play out of my mind, and what if I make the regular roster? That’s kind of what the goal of today is—I’m hoping to land with a club.”
