Went to my LCS today and got a variety of stuff. Love golf but never rip it, so decided to go for a box of UD SP- one pack, 5 cards. 3 hits per box.

Well as you can tell, ‘hits’ are subjective. I guess I now need to become a huge Yannick Paul fan. Bummer of a rip, especially at that price!

Thought this was a really cool article to share. The Great One hype has always been real, but cool to understand his impact and partnership still to this day.

The concept of Upper Deck Collectors choice was great, but a lack of inserts and autos maybe made it doomed from the start?

I still believe that the “gold signature“ cards are way undervalue. They were inserted 1 per box (and these sets were huge so player pack odds are in the high thousands), plus extremely condition sensitive.

I would love to see Panini or Fanatics bring something like this back, although Topps big League is aimed at kids…

Mentioned this a few days ago but the card just arrived. ‘89 UD Griffey PSA 6.

Now I know what you might be thinking… ’you didn’t have the most graded card in the world already?’

And ‘you bought a PSA 6?’

Yep! For the first, say, 20 years of my collecting journey I bought packs and on occasion, bought singles but generally of LA athletes.

More recently I’ve been trying to scoop up more singles, still mostly of LA athletes, but I’ll occasionally grab a card or player that means something to me. That’s where this Griffey came from… It was time, but given I don’t collect Griffey or Mariners players, I figured I’d grab one with strong eye appeal and a stomachable cost.

Think this one hits that mark well!
