Here's a classic card that I modernized using 3D printing techniques.

1986 Fleer Michael Jordan #57

The front is the classic 1986 Fleer Jordan card. It uses 8 pigments in total, Many of the pigments were shades of gray and black in order to get the best shadows of Jordan. I added a gold NBA logoman next to the card company logo and removed the extraneous blue and red from the NBA logo.
I added blue jewels to the border as well.

I created a custom back to highlight Jordan's achievements. I included two quotes, one from Jordan himself and the other from Ahmad Rashad.

Lastly, I fabricated a friction-fitted holder for the card with some information.

The 1989 Upper Deck Ken Griffey Jr card

The front is a 4-pigment (black matte, black metal, white, and gray) chromaphane of the card. I've added the Mariners' Trident and used dark-green jewels to outline the grass on the right of the card. His necklace is studded with a single gold jewel.

The back shows KGJ's accomplishments and info about his 1987 scouting report. I figured modern collectors wouldn't know how good KGJ was predicted to be, or how accurate his scouting report was.

I added more info about his stats on the 3D printed slab, which I fabricated using black metal pigment. I used CAD to ensure the top loader is friction-fitted, so no adhesive is needed.

Of note, he had a signing bonus of $200K in 1989. Adjusted for inflation using the CPI, that would be $535K today.

I made my first custom stand this week and it turned out pretty great! It has plenty of back support and is adjustable to fit the size of card I want. Once I have a little bit of a better design I might sell them. If you have any tips please lmk in the comments or by dm
