Started working on this project a few days ago. The first piece was a test of how the concept would work with paint on the outside of the box and a different accent paint design on the inside. The second unpainted piece is a test with the hardware I’d like to use on the final product and the appropriate size I’d like to use as well. The idea is that the box can be used upright/standing as storage and on its side as a display. Really excited to fine tune the details and see if anyone would be interested in purchasing one with customization like a custom paint job on the outside and inside and potentially a design or text laser engraved onto the lid doors or sides.

Overall, really excited to hopefully make one for someone one day fully customized, but not sure anyone would be interested in purchasing a custom one. Fun project regardless!

The frame is precision 3D printed with overall dimensions of 8" x 11.3" and a total depth of just 3.5 mm—wafer-thin and ideal for seamless display on a desk or wall. It securely houses a large, authentic fragment of Joe Burrow’s jersey.

Pigments consistent with the PRIZM color profile were integrated directly into the filament during fabrication, eliminating the need for any post-processing or painting.

Frames can be dimensioned to virtually any size, streamlining the creation of custom memorabilia cards. This allows creators to focus on the design and storytelling elements of their work, while my workshop handles the technical precision of the framing.

@CashLumber inspired me to post one of my customs I did a while back. I love creating art to go along with my collection. My own jumpman used an old Vince Carter figurine with different paints and gold leafing, and a hand painted wood base.

Here's a 3D printed take on the legendary 1981 rookie card featuring Larry Bird and Magic Johnson. It was designed in CAD and printed using seven different pigments to match the look of the original. On the back, you'll find highlights from each of their careers, plus their signatures. The holder was custom made and fits the card snugly without any glue or clips. This is a custom Tom Brady Blue Snow card—one of the first chromaphane pieces I made. I designed it in CAD and 3D printed it using three different pigments. The back features the modern NFL logo.
