I thought I’d post something unique to me and holds special memories to my childhood. I was around 7-8 years old in the mid 80’s and a huge football fan of many teams and players. I wrote fan letters to all my favorite players that I saw on TV or had their football card. I would write how I am a fan of theirs and asked if they could send me a signed picture. They all pretty much responded to me from what I could remember.
Simpler times back then which I miss. Superstars signing 8x10’s knowing it won’t be resold or end up on eBay as none of that existed, just enjoyment of being a fan. The team provided the picture and the postage to send to me. Incredible!
The photos pictured are the only ones I have left thankfully. I lost many of them in an album due to a hurricane and flooded the basement. I remember having Bernie Kosar, Al Toon, Marcus Allen, Danny White and Mark Duper from what I remember.
Would love to hear if anyone sent in autograph requests and got photos back. I’ve had some luck in recent years but very little luck with my son sending out requests to players. Different times now unfortunately.
