What can you say? Any Kobe Bryant autograph is a pretty solid card. Luckily, I picked this up prior to his tragic helicopter accident that took his life. At that time, Kobe autographs were still relatively cheap as he signed for a lot of products. I have about 10 Kobe autographs and this one was from one of the lower end brands. Since I had others, I allowed this one to be traded as I prefer on card autographs more than sticker autos. Don’t get me wrong, I still love this card and it is a beautiful piece in grade. But sometimes you have to make tough decisions to get other cards that you want.
I figured Jackie Robinson day was the right time to share my only Jackie Robinson autograph. From the epic Upper Deck SP legendary cuts set, this card features a cut autograph from a canceled check from Jackie Robinson. The card has been graded a BGS 9.5, with the only bad part being the autograph is partially covered by the canceled bank stamp. I’ve been on the hunt for a nice Jackie Robinson, early Leaf or Topps card for a reasonable price. Unfortunately, I still don’t have one as part of my PC.
Love em of hate em, I think these homage to 1986-87 Fleer are cool. The Durant and Westbrook rookies are sweet. But the vets of Kobe and LeBron are awesome, too. Hard to gem, just like the OG fleer set, this KD is a perfect BGS 9.5 gem mint.
