Show #3 of 3 on this epic trip: Come for the cardboard, stay for the conversation in Monterey Bay 🐳 🌴

The last of the major shows I’ll be highlighting on this trip is the Monterey Bay Card Show, happening November 29 (10 AM – 6 PM) at the Monterey Bay Convention Center!

From the Heartland to the Highway to the Pacific, the journey comes to a close where the waves meet the wax — the Monterey Bay Card Show, a 200+ table spectacle and the biggest event the Bay Area’s ever seen. Vendors from every corner of the hobby will surface for what’s sure to be a whale of a time 🐳 .

This final stop caps off a coast-to-coast adventure full of cardboard treasures, late-night deals, and stories that’ll echo long after the tide rolls back.

Grateful for every handshake, every trade, and every mile of this trip. At 6 p.m., I’ll officially go Do Not Disturb — a three-day Ironman back to Knoxville and back to reality… until the next great adventure. 🌅

Show #2 of 3 on this wacky trip: Come for the cardboard, stay for the conversation in Pasadena 🤩 🌴

The second of three major shows I’ll be highlighting on this trip is the Front Row Card Show, happening November 22–23 (10 AM – 5 PM daily) at the Pasadena Convention Center, with Trade Night Saturday at 5 PM!

This stop is extra meaningful — I’ll be rolling straight in from Santa Monica Pier, having just completed Route 66 end to end. From the Midwest highways to the Pacific coast, and now straight into one of SoCal’s premier shows — it doesn’t get much better than that 🚙 💨

I’ll have fresh inventory picked up along the road, and I’ll be buying, selling, and trading all weekend — and buying strong 💰.

With Southern Cal roots ✌ it’s surreal to finally set up at a show in California for the first time. Can’t wait to meet new faces, reconnect with old friends, and celebrate this milestone stop on the journey.

Sample of an archive of vintage 35mm slides believed to be related to California highways (construction, road opening ceremonies, traffic studies etc). Many are early red border slides around the 1940s or 1950s era - acquired as-is without history
