My first post in the new Basketball Cards with Denny Cards group is going to be this sweet mail day I recently had where I pick up a mini grail.
I’ll have to explain the full story another time, but this set (2007-08 Upper Deck Artifacts) has a lot of meaning for me and it’s the product I probably ripped the most out of all products I’ve ever ripped. Hobby boxes were $50 back in 2008 and were so much fun. It’s the only year Upper Deck made this product for basketball.
While at EA, there were so many cool stuff around the studio. Occasionally we got athletes visiting and we got some stuff signed. At the time, I had no idea he would go on to be one of the best. The recent documentary "Court of Gold" there was one scene of KD explaining why he wanted to come back for that Olympics. He got really emotional and the reasons made me love him as a player/person.
Love em of hate em, I think these homage to 1986-87 Fleer are cool. The Durant and Westbrook rookies are sweet. But the vets of Kobe and LeBron are awesome, too. Hard to gem, just like the OG fleer set, this KD is a perfect BGS 9.5 gem mint.
