I wanted to share another PC piece from my friend and talented artist, Tom Fallos @thecardcarver

Here we have an amazing 1/1 piece that pulls inspiration from the tobacco era cards.

The front features MJ in a old school Chicago White Sox jersey with overall deisgn inspired from old T206 cards.

The back features the the 1/1 stamp and card carver information, along with the artist signature.

Tom has been doing some amazing things both with his own artwork, as well as helping elevate and bring the card art community together.

I feel it’s important that we all come together as a card art community and help share the work of one another. We need to celebrate each other and bring awareness to some many talented individuals. This card art movement is just getting started!

MJ MONDAY: Sneaker Series Air Jordan 11

Today I wanted to share with you the latest drop from my new company Collector Creative, the Sneaker Series: Air Jordan 11.

The Air Jordan 11 debuted in the ‘95 Eastern Conference Finals, and are considered a pop culture icon. MJ wore these during the Bulls' historic 72-win season (1996) and in the “Space Jam” movie.

Designed by the legendary Tinker Hatfield, the AJ11 introduced two significant firsts for both Air Jordans and basketball sneakers: the use of patent leather and a carbon fiber plate. The sleek patent leather was inspired by dress shoes, a special request from MJ. The combination of patent leather and cloth upper
were inspired by convertible cars, with the glossy body and soft top.

The Jordan 11 became iconic during the ‘96 season. While the original colorway was the "Concord," Jordan wore the “Bred” colorway when he famously clutched the Larry O’Brien Trophy on the Bulls’ locker room floor after winning his first title post-retirement.

This release was limited to a total of 50 pieces.  Each piece is hand numbered and signed on the back.  Additionally, I have created an online authentication system so you can enter the unique verification number at OriginalCardArt.com and get all of the details about your piece (just like you would with a graded card).

I have been overwhelmed and appreciate the support and response on my original card art pieces. The first 2 drops are sold out and only a few copies of this release remain.

So if you like the artwork that you see, head over to grab your copy before they sell out!

MJ Monday: UD Draw Your Own Card

In honor of our pal @BenchMob, I figured I’d add to the MJ Monday topic tag.

This weekend I hit up Veecon and they had a handful of card shops selling. I ended up digging through some singles boxes from Great American Sports Cards, and found 3 Upper Deck Draw Your Own Card MJs- all drawn by kids back in 1999.

Totally forgot these existed, and it got me wondering if these three artists stayed in the hobby and continued to make art.

We talk about art cards a lot here, so it was fun seeing some old school versions.

Anybody collect these back then?

+1

This set contains 15 cards which were randomly inserted into Series One boxes at a rate of 1:96 packs (1:1,140 player pack odds).

The design of this set is extremely unique as it was the first year The Hobby was introduced to the "Cracked Ice" print technique. The front also features an abstract, almost Picasso like, color player image. Additionally, the players name is a small font in the upper left, the 3Ds text (Dominate, Determination, and Dunk) and two eye popping stats for each player…

For MJ it was 28.7 points and 38.8 minutes per game averages

Pippen has 19 points and 1.80 steals per game averages

And Rodman has 15.0 rebounds per game average and 1,201 total rebounds on the season.

The backs of each card feature the player's name, team logo, brief narrative about the player, and a color headshot.

These cards are extremely condition sensitive due to the full-bleed black background.

The combination of rarity and condition sensitivity, make high grade copies of these card into the thousands.

So, if you are looking for a beautiful late 90s insert set to chase, which combines a unique aesthetic and solid pack odds and, be sure to check out the 1998 Skybox Premium 3Ds set.

MJ MONDAY: PiggyBanx MJ Heavy is the Head

Post image 1

We all talk about "Collect What You Love", and this piece embodies that for me. No, it's not a pack pulled, rare, 90s insert (which I do LOVE). And it's not a modern card that is a limited, serial numbered, parallel...

This piece is original artwork by PiggyBanx.

I was lucky enough to meet him back in 2022 at The National in Atlantic city. He had just started posting his artwork to IG and it caught my attention with his mashup of sports and pop culture. The piece that I saw that stood out was his Jumpman-Dalorian. It was the iconic Jumpman logo, but with the Mandolorian instead of the MJ silhouette...pure genius. We chatted for a bit and I ended up purchasing a few pieces from him.

Fast forward a couple years and he and Code are the hottest original card artists going right now.

This piece is part of the "Heavy is the Head" series which features those who are the best at what they do. The "set" includes Kobe, LeBron, Messi, Brady, Stan Lee, and MJ.

The details are amazing as ghosted images of his shoes, him winning titles and more are inside the crown.

I feel extremely fortunate to own this piece, and it's a permeant part of PC that will never move.

If you have not had a chance to check out PiggyBanx, it's worth a couple minutes browsing his IG profile to see all of the incredible art he has created!
