1948-52 Exhibits, Sammy Baugh 🏈
"Slingin’ Sammy" Baugh helped revolutionized professional football by proving that the forward pass could be a dominant offensive weapon. As a quarterback, punter, and defensive back for the Washington Redskins, from 1937 to 1952, he led the league in passing, punting, and interceptions at various times—a feat unmatched in NFL history. His throwing prowess helped lay the foundation for the modern passing era.
He was a 2-time All-American QB at TCU and was a member of the inaugural class of the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1963.
