Another PC post. This is simply for the love of the game. I played throughout high school, a bit in college, and once while in the Army for an Army club team. The fastest man in the sport during his time. He was a joy to watch.
I’ve bought Topps Olympic cards for years (they’re awesome) and have never seen them sold out like this before. So I’m begrudgingly buying singles. I think the card to get in this set might be Ilona Maher, who already has two viral clips (plowing over a defender and responding to someone mocking her BMI) and a huge social media following (if you believe in the Leaf method of card worthiness).
Will these have value after September? Maybe? I could see her being a breakout and maybe doing some commercials and even TV stuff?
So then it becomes do I risk $50+ for an auto rookie card? Right now it’s been relatively cheap /199 or /99 parallels.
Still a cool card of a fun player. But I wonder if she really takes off
