Welcome to the Autograph Collectors group! While I collect cards in general, I love autographs - especially on-card, rookies, and vintage with some memorabilia, too! Jeter has one of the best autographs in the game. Clear, bold, consistent and unique.
I figured Jackie Robinson day was the right time to share my only Jackie Robinson autograph. From the epic Upper Deck SP legendary cuts set, this card features a cut autograph from a canceled check from Jackie Robinson. The card has been graded a BGS 9.5, with the only bad part being the autograph is partially covered by the canceled bank stamp. I’ve been on the hunt for a nice Jackie Robinson, early Leaf or Topps card for a reasonable price. Unfortunately, I still don’t have one as part of my PC.
Man, the rise, fall, rise, and fall again of KD cards over the years, through the pandemic and afterwards has been a bit nuts. We was likeable, and I still love his game, but the join winners and then hop from team to team doesn’t play well with fan. I still think he’s a top 20 player, all-time. Here is his UD SP rookie auto in a PSA 10 grade.
Yes, the Jeter is the best card of this set. This is arguably the second best Chipper Jones rookie (after his 1991 Topps Desert Shield). But, just like the Jeter, these are also extremely condition sensitive. So glad to have this one in my collection. I might upgrade to a signed version of this at some point. Willing to sacrifice on the grade to get the autograph. Loved watching him play. Great hitter and all-around classy guy.
This set is one of my all-time favorites. The space for the autographs, the caliber of the players (Jordan, LeBron, Kobe, Bird., Garnett, Dr. J, etc). This is one of the top 20 cards I have in my collection.
