1955 Topps Jim Thorpe football PSA 5

Post image 1

The story of Jim Thorpe…or should I say the legend of Jim Thorpe, is amazing. He’s doesn’t have a lot of cards. This, his 1933 Sport Kings and a couple odd ball cards. This card is 70 years old. Decent condition and good centering. Would love to upgrade to a PSA/SGC 7-8 one day. But for now, this will have to do! Thorpe is in the NFL Hall of Fame. He’s in the MLB Hall of Fame and he’s a multiple medal winner in the Olympics.

2005 Jim Thorpe Upper Deck Portriats cut auto

Post image 1

The only Jim Thorpe autograph I have in my collection (still want to add 1-2 more at some point), this is an over-sized picture with an embedded cut auto. Very cool piece, but I want something in a classic card-sized cut (or vintage IP, ideally!)

1933 Sport Kings Jim Thorpe PSA 4

Post image 1

One of my favorite cards. Jim Thorpe 1933 Sport Kings in a decent grade. These are hard to find in general, great eye appeal even though the corners aren’t perfect and the centering is a bit off. This whole set is iconic outside of the Babe Ruth, is probably my favorite card in the set. I love the legend of Jim Thorpe - one of, if not THE, best athlete in the 20th century. He’s in the baseball AND football Hall of Fame. Oh, and he’s a multiple gold medal winner at the Olympics. Amazing.

1912 Olympics Jim Thorpe Debut Gold medal ticket PSA 8

Post image 1

Quick pivot from cards to tickets. Only a few out there in the world that exist and have been graded. At last check, this is the highest graded Jim Thorpe Olympic debut ticket - PSA 8. Think about the historical context of this ticket. 112 years ago, Jim Thorpe won gold for the US, the first Native American to do so - and a future NFL and MLB hall of fame player. His story is amazing. And tragic. Stay tuned for a couple more Jim Thorpe items from the collection…
