Picked up this faded signed ball with players and coaches on the 1977 White Sox. I’m wondering if it’s a ball from Spring Training because Sam Hairston’s sig (his SABR bio says he coached with the Sox primarily in Spring Training in the 60s and 70s). He, along with Hall of Famers Minnie Miñoso and Larry Doby, are 3 former Negro League players on the ball. And my all-time favorite announcer, Steve Stone, with a sweet playing days sig (I also have his auto from a Cubs convention years ago).

Ernie Banks visited the Danville, IL Civic Center back in 1987 or 88. He signed dozens and dozens of items - what a guy! Happy Birthday, Mr. Cub!

Well, I guess I have a collection of Boom Boom Beck pieces within my Bloomers collection. Boom Boom appeared in 5 games for the Bloomers in 1925 as a 20 year-old. He went on to pitch professionally until 1950. I love this early signed ball that arrived today. I also have a snapshot of Boom Boom from his time with the Memphis Chicks and a signed index card. I need to figure out more about the ball.
