This is a Starting Lineup Cooperstown Collection Honus Wagner figure…But wait…That is not Honus Wagner in the Box?…That’s Babe Ruth!…The story is that when this series of figures were issued (Mid-late 1990s) The Honus Wagner Figure was for sale exclusively at Toys R Us… The Babe Ruth figure was for sale exclusively at the now defunct, KB Toys. Obviously someone put the wrong figure in the wrong box (If you noticed the sealed top it’s never been opened), yet, despite my case for this being a rare error given the availability of who was allowed to sell which figure exclusively, at the time, the “collector community” does not see it as an error of significance or rarity 😞…fingers crossed that one day, that will change 🤷🏻‍♂️ 🤞🏼

Yes, 80s/90s Starting Lineups are EVERYWHERE 😆… but it was surprisingly tricky to find a non-yellowed 85/85/85 from the inaugural year (1988), let alone MJ, and obviously not for some totally unrealistic price (ahem, eBay sellers). I might grab a Kobe (1996) at some point but this probably scratches my SLU itch and stoked to add to my MJ collection of goodies 🏀 🐐!
