Hobby Hustle The National 2024 - Evan Parker (CEO Mantel) and Tom Fallos (The Card Carver)

OVERVIEW:Due to being sick, I was unable to record, so instead we are goingto take a step back to this year's National and revisit a great conversationwith two

Due to being sick, I was unable to record last week, so instead we are going to take a step back to this year's National and revisit a great conversation with two amazing people and friends in The Hobby.

This was a conversation with @EPonMantel, the CEO of Mantel, and Tom Fallos, aka @thecardcarver, which recorded on Thursday, July 25 in Cleveland, OH at 2024 The National Sports Collectors Convention.

We discuss the emerging Card Art world and what the future may hold.

It's amazing to think what has happened in the card art space over the past three months since this recording.

I hope you enjoy this conversation!

Crossover Grading

Post image 1

What is everyone's thoughts on crossover grading? Just got back a Max Scherzer rookie card from PSA that's a 9 after sending a bunch of my better cards to SGC at The National last year when they had a special promotion. Thought it made sense to see what the grades come back as at a discount before seeing if it was worth sending to PSA for a more legit evaluation. Did I go about it the right way or should I have just sent everything to PSA first?

A Look at The Goldin 100 | Part II Heading to Cleveland

Riding high from the success of Season 2 of the Netflix series** King of Collectibles: The Goldin Touch, Ken Goldin and his staff at Goldin will display another impressive gallery at this year’s National.
The Goldin 100: Part II launches on July 22 and ends on August 17. Of the 50 items in the auction, all but one will be delivered to Cleveland.
Perhaps the most jaw-dropping piece is Michael Jordan’s college application to North Carolina and acceptance letter. It’s one of the earliest known signatures for Jordan.
